The Tatkal Charges have been fixed as a percentage of fare at the rate of 10% of basic fare for second class and 30% of basic fare as fare details given.
Tatkal tickets will be issued for actual distance of travel, instead of end-to-end, subject to the distance restriction applicable to the train. The same Tatkal berth/seat may be booked in multiple legs till preparation of charts. At the time of preparation of charts, unutilized portion may be released to the General RAC/Waiting list passengers.
Tatkal facility is also available in Executive Class of Shatabadi Express trains also, by earmarking 10% of the accommodation available i.e. 5 seats per coach.
Tatkal Timing :
Tatkal booking opens at 10 AM for AC Classes and 11 AM for NON-AC Classes on One days in advance actual date of journey excluding date of journey w.e.f. of 15.06.2015.
Tatkal tickets shall be issued only on production of one of the ten prescribed proofs of identity shown under any photo proof like voter iD, AAdhar, driving licence, Pan card, college ID etc.

E-Ticket Booking through tatkal time Reservation Process:
Where select “play my travel” page, enter from station and To station, Select Date of Journey Date and Select Ticket Type E Ticket or I ticket. Select option “E Ticket”. Click on Submit.
After all List of Trains show the number of trains available for that route.
After your wish to select train name and the timings option. Then click to know class to get availability of seat and its fare. class means 1A, 2A, 3A, SL, 2s And CC. Before booking ticket , you should select “General”, in case “tatkal” select it. To get the fare, click on class available in the selected train under “List of Trains”. It will show fare according to type of class selected. The fare appearing is for a single adult Passenger and the service charges charged by IRCTC.
